They tend to all fight for a single lane if they're taking the same turn. isn't exactly the best with deciding which routes to take either. Traffic is your blessing and curse in this game and it will make or break your city.
While it may seem efficient or isn't an issue immediately, take care when you're mapping out your city's roads. That said, it's perfect for trying things out and sparking ideas. Your first steps in starting a new game will always be to place a single piece of road, which should be from the main junction to where you wish to start building the city. If you load an existing save with them it will nullify them from then on. There's 'sandbox' type options to unlock all milestones and infinite money although trophies will be locked if you use either. You just design and grow as you go, if you're playing normally. There's not really any goal other than those, and what you set for yourself. There's milestones with unlocks for reaching certain populations, as well as unique buildings and landmarks to earn. I strongly recommend looking up some vids on youtube or watching some streams if you've got the time.
Before you buy new territory, you should inspect surrounding territories and pick the best one when you’re buying.
